Bookora Privacy
Privacy Policy
Last updated / Última actualización: June 2, 2026
Bookora respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how Bookora collects, uses, stores, and shares personal information when you use the Bookora website, booking pages, dashboard, support channels, and related services.
For this policy, "Bookora," "we," "us," and "our" refer to the Bookora booking platform currently operated by Sergio Romero as an individual operator in Costa Rica, unless a future incorporated entity is identified. "Business" means a barbershop, salon, clinic, professional, or other service provider that uses Bookora to manage bookings. "Customer" means a person who books or manages an appointment through Bookora.
1. Bookora's Role
Bookora provides software that helps businesses manage appointments, services, staff, schedules, and customer bookings. When you book an appointment through a business's Bookora page, you are booking directly with that business, not with Bookora.
The business is responsible for the service it provides, including prices, staff, availability, cancellation rules, refunds, and the customer experience. Bookora is responsible for operating the booking platform and handling platform-related technical support.
2. Information We Collect
Depending on how you use Bookora, we may collect:
- Customer information, such as name, phone number, email address, appointment details, selected service, selected staff member or provider, appointment date and time, booking status, and optional booking notes.
- Business information, such as business name, contact details, address or service location, public booking page URL or slug, branding, images, public description, services, prices, staff names, schedules, availability, appointment rules, and business settings.
- Account information, such as login credentials, administrator or staff account details, account preferences, and authentication records.
- Technical information, such as IP address, browser type, device information, session data, security logs, usage logs, and similar metadata needed to operate, secure, and improve the platform.
- Support information, such as messages you send to Bookora support and information needed to investigate platform issues.
3. Payments
Bookora does not currently collect payment card information because Bookora does not process payments in the current MVP. If a business accepts payments, deposits, tips, refunds, or fees outside Bookora, that transaction is handled directly by the business or its chosen payment provider.
4. Sensitive Information
Bookora is not designed for storing highly sensitive personal information in customer notes or booking messages. Customers and businesses should avoid entering medical, financial, identity, or other highly sensitive information unless Bookora later provides specific features and safeguards for that type of data.
5. How We Use Information
We use personal information to:
- Provide and operate the booking platform.
- Create, confirm, manage, cancel, or reschedule appointments according to business settings.
- Allow businesses to manage services, staff, availability, customer records, and appointment history.
- Send booking-related communications, such as confirmations, reminders, cancellation notices, or account messages where enabled.
- Provide technical support and respond to inquiries.
- Maintain security, prevent fraud, detect misuse, and troubleshoot errors.
- Improve platform reliability, usability, and performance.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
6. Information Shared With Businesses
When you book through a business's Bookora page, the business receives the information needed to provide and manage your appointment, such as your name, contact details, selected service, selected provider, appointment time, booking status, and notes you choose to submit.
Businesses are responsible for how they use appointment and customer information in connection with their services. If you have questions about a business's service, pricing, refunds, cancellation policy, staff, or customer experience, contact that business directly.
7. Service Providers
Bookora may use trusted third-party service providers for hosting, storage, database infrastructure, email delivery, authentication, analytics, error tracking, security, customer support, and other operational needs.
Current or expected provider categories may include hosting providers such as Vercel or equivalent services, database providers such as Neon/PostgreSQL or equivalent services, domain/DNS providers, email providers, authentication providers, analytics providers, and error tracking providers. Payment processors are not used for the current MVP unless payment functionality is later added.
These providers may process information only as needed to help Bookora operate the platform.
8. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Bookora may use cookies or similar technologies required for login, security, session management, and core platform functionality. If Bookora later uses analytics or marketing cookies, we will update this Privacy Policy and the Cookie Policy and, where required, provide appropriate consent controls.
9. Data Retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide Bookora, support businesses and customers, maintain business records, resolve disputes, improve security, and comply with legal obligations. Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and the reason it is stored.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information. No online service can guarantee perfect security. Customers and businesses should use strong passwords, protect account access, and notify Bookora if they suspect unauthorized access or a security issue.
11. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, or limitation of certain personal information. You may also ask questions about how your information is used.
To make a privacy request, contact privacy@usebookora.com or support@usebookora.com.
If your request concerns an appointment, service, refund, cancellation, or business-owned customer record, Bookora may direct you to the business that provides the service.
12. International Access
Bookora is primarily intended for businesses operating in Costa Rica during the MVP stage, unless otherwise agreed. Because Bookora is web-based, it may be accessible from other countries. By using Bookora, you understand that information may be processed in countries where Bookora or its service providers operate.
13. Children's and Minors' Privacy
Bookora is a general booking and scheduling platform for service-based businesses. Bookora is not specifically directed to children or minors.
Bookora does not generally require customers to verify their age in order to make an appointment. However, each business using Bookora is responsible for determining whether its services are available to minors, whether a parent or legal guardian must be present, and whether additional consent, authorization, or identification is required.
Customers should not submit sensitive personal information through Bookora, especially information related to minors, unless it is strictly necessary for the appointment and appropriate safeguards are in place.
If a parent or legal guardian believes that a minor has provided personal information through Bookora and wants to request access, correction, or deletion, they may contact Bookora at privacy@usebookora.com. Depending on the request, Bookora may also direct the parent or guardian to the business responsible for the appointment.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted at this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
15. Contact
For privacy questions, contact Bookora at privacy@usebookora.com or support@usebookora.com. A mailing address is available upon legitimate legal request until a public business address is established.
